29.6 Kong-kek goán ê sī chi̍t-tīn chûn-lô͘
"Tō sī án-ne," sîn-hū kóng, i mā tah-èng chi̍t-ē ū ki-hōe tō kā i kà. In koh hia̍p-gī, tông-ì taⁿ seng hō͘ sîn-hū chē lô-á, jiân-āu saⁿ-lâng lûn-liû chē, it-ti̍t kàu kheh-chàn, ùi chia khì tāi-khài 6 league [28.8 km].
Saⁿ-lâng ū tè khiâ, iā tō sī Don Quixote, kong-chú, kap sîn-hū, saⁿ-ê pō͘-lián, Cardenio, thì-thâu-sai, kap Sancho Panza. Don Quixote tùi siàu-lú kóng:
"Hu-jîn, chhiáⁿ tiān-hā chhōa-lō͘, kàu lí boeh ài khì ê só͘-chāi," tān bōe tán yi hôe-tap, sîn-hū tō chhiúⁿ tāi-seng kóng:

29.6 攻擊阮 ê 是一陣船奴
"Tō 是 án-ne," 神父講, 伊 mā 答應一下有機會 tō kā 伊教. In koh 協議, 同意今先 hō͘ 神父坐騾仔, 然後三人輪流坐, 一直到客棧, ùi chia 去大概 6 league [28.8 km].
三人有地騎, 也 tō 是 Don Quixote, 公主, kap 神父, 三个步輦, Cardenio, 剃頭師, kap Sancho Panza. Don Quixote 對少女講:
"夫人, 請殿下𤆬路, 到你欲愛去 ê 所在," 但未等她回答, 神父 tō 搶代先講:
"殿下欲𤆬阮到佗一个王國? 是毋是欲去 Micomicon? 的確是, 若無, kám 有其他 ê 王國?"
她心頭在在, 知影按怎回答.
"著," 她講, "著 lah, 先生, 我𤆬 ê 路 tō 是欲往彼个王國."
"若是 án-ne," 神父講, "咱著 cháⁿ ùi 阮庄經過, 然後殿下 koh 往 Cartagena 去, 才 tī hia 坐船. 若運氣好, 風溫和, 海平靜, 毋免 9 年恁 tō ē 看著 Meona 大湖, a̍h 是叫做 Meotides, ùi hia koh 行 100 捅工, tō ē-tàng 到位殿下 ê 王國 lah."
"你誤會 ah, 先生," 她講, "我 ùi hia 來, 免 2 年時間, 規路無拄著好天氣. 不而過, 我猶是見著期望真久 ê La Mancha ê Don Quixote 大人. 一下踏上 Sepanga 土地, 我 tō 聽著伊 ê 名聲, 引起我欲揣伊, 對伊表達尊敬, kā 有關我 ê 公義交托 hō͘ 伊 he 無敵 ê 手骨."
"有夠 ah, 免 koh 褒 ah lah," Don Quixote 講, "我討厭人扶. 雖罔恁毋是欲扶, 但, 彼種話 hō͘ 我耳空袂清靜. 我 kan-ta 想欲講, 小姐, 毋管我是毋是有氣力, 有 mā 好, 無 mā 好, 我總是為你效勞, 甚至到死. 今, kā che 按下, 我欲請神父 Ss kā 我講, 是啥因端來到這所在, 孤一人, 無陪伴, 穿插 chiah 輕便, che hō͘ 我充滿好奇."
"我來簡單回答," 神父應, "Don Quixote Ss, 你著知, 我 ê 朋友, mā 是剃頭師 Nicholas 師傅 kap 我 tng-teh 欲去 Seville 領一筆錢. He 是我一个幾年前去 Indies ê 親情寄 hō͘ 我 ê, 數額袂細, 足足 6 萬塊銀幣 (pieces of eight), 是一條大錢 neh. 昨昏經過 chia ê 時, 阮去 hō͘ 4 个強盜攻擊, kā 阮搶了了, 連喙鬚 to khau 去. 無喙鬚, 剃頭師認為需要鬥一个假 ê, 甚至這个少年人 mā 是 (伊 kí Cardenio), 自 án-ne, in ê 面貌大改變.
"上害 ê 是, 聽附近 ê 人講, 攻擊阮 ê 是一陣船奴. 聽講 in 是 tī 差不多仝彼个所在 hō͘ 一个勇敢 ê 人所釋放 ê, 無管差役 kap 衛兵 ê 反對, kā in chiâu 放走. 無疑, hit 人定著是頭殼歹去, 若無, 伊 tō 是大歹人, kap hiah-ê 人仝款, a̍h 是無心肝, 無良心 ê 人, 放狼入羊陣, 放狐狸入雞舍, 放胡蠅舐蜂蜜. 伊破壞司法, 辜負伊 ê 國王 kap 法定主人, 因為伊違背 ka-tī ê 正義使命. 我 ē-sái 講, 伊搶劫大船 ê 跤手, 攪動久年來恬靜 ê 聖兄弟會, 落尾 koh 做成一項失去靈魂 iū-koh 對身體無利益 ê 代誌."
Sancho 有 kā 神父 kap 剃頭師講起主人放走船奴 ê 代誌. 伊講 kah 足風神, 認為是主人 ê 大成就. 神父 teh 講 ê 時, 添油 koh 加醋, 欲看 Don Quixote ê 反應. 神父每講一句, Don Quixote ê 面色 tō 變一下, soah 毋敢承認 he 船奴是伊放走 ê.
"Tō 是 chiah-ê 匪徒," 神父講, "kā 阮搶錢. 但願神慈悲, 饒赦彼个人, 是伊放 in 免受該當 ê 處罰."

“And so it is,” said the curate, and he promised to teach it to him on the first opportunity. They then agreed that for the present the curate should mount, and that the three should ride by turns until they reached the inn, which might be about six leagues from where they were.
Three then being mounted, that is to say, Don Quixote, the princess, and the curate, and three on foot, Cardenio, the barber, and Sancho Panza, Don Quixote said to the damsel:
“Let your highness, lady, lead on whithersoever is most pleasing to you;” but before she could answer the licentiate said:

“Towards what kingdom would your ladyship direct our course? Is it perchance towards that of Micomicon? It must be, or else I know little about kingdoms.”
She, being ready on all points, understood that she was to answer /
“Yes,” so she said “Yes, señor, my way lies towards that kingdom.”
“In that case,” said the curate, “we must pass right through my village, and there your worship will take the road to Cartagena, where you will be able to embark, fortune favouring; and if the wind be fair and the sea smooth and tranquil, in somewhat less than nine years you may come in sight of the great lake Meona, I mean Meotides, which is little more than a hundred days’ journey this side of your highness’s kingdom.”

“Your worship is mistaken, señor,” said she; “for it is not two years since I set out from it, and though I never had good weather, nevertheless I am here to behold what I so longed for, and that is my lord Don Quixote of La Mancha, whose fame came to my ears as soon as I set foot in Spain and impelled me to go in search of him, to commend myself to his courtesy, and entrust the justice of my cause to the might of his invincible arm.”
“Enough; no more praise,” said Don Quixote at this, “for I hate all flattery; and though this may not be so, still language of the kind is offensive to my chaste ears. I will only say, señora, that whether it has might or not, that which it may or may not have shall be devoted to your service even to death; and now, leaving this to its proper season, I would ask the señor licentiate to tell me what it is that has brought him into these parts, alone, unattended, and so lightly clad that I am filled with amazement.”
“I will answer that briefly,” replied the curate; “you must know then, Señor Don Quixote, that Master Nicholas, our friend and barber, and I were going to Seville to receive some money that a relative of mine who went to the Indies many years ago had sent me, and not such a small sum but that it was over sixty thousand pieces of eight, full weight, which is something; and passing by this place yesterday we were attacked by four footpads, who stripped us even to our beards, and them they stripped off so that the barber found it necessary to put on a false one, and even this young man here”—pointing to Cardenio—“they completely transformed. /
But the best of it is, the story goes in the neighbourhood that those who attacked us belong to a number of galley slaves who, they say, were set free almost on the very same spot by a man of such valour that, in spite of the commissary and of the guards, he released the whole of them; and beyond all doubt he must have been out of his senses, or he must be as great a scoundrel as they, or some man without heart or conscience to let the wolf loose among the sheep, the fox among the hens, the fly among the honey. He has defrauded justice, and opposed his king and lawful master, for he opposed his just commands; he has, I say, robbed the galleys of their feet, stirred up the Holy Brotherhood which for many years past has been quiet, and, lastly, has done a deed by which his soul may be lost without any gain to his body.” /
Sancho had told the curate and the barber of the adventure of the galley slaves, which, so much to his glory, his master had achieved, and hence the curate in alluding to it made the most of it to see what would be said or done by Don Quixote; who changed colour at every word, not daring to say that it was he who had been the liberator of those worthy people. /
“These, then,” said the curate, “were they who robbed us; and God in his mercy pardon him who would not let them go to the punishment they deserved.”
